Registered Nurse - Inpatient Oncology

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment on an Inpatient Oncology Unit in Cumming, Georgia. This role offers an opportunity to provide specialized care within a dynamic acute care setting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to adult oncology patients, managing complex symptoms, administering treatments, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to a diverse population of oncology patients in an acute care setting.
  • Administer medications, including chemotherapy and supportive therapies, safely and accurately.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, assess conditions, and document all observations and interventions thoroughly.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, and self-care strategies.
  • Manage and prioritize patient care assignments, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of services.
  • Maintain a sterile and safe environment, adhering to all infection control and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent, acute care experience in an Inpatient Oncology or Medical-Surgical Oncology unit.
  • Ability to travel and reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility for the duration of the assignment.

Shift Details

  • Assignment Dates: August 24, 2026 - November 21, 2026
  • Holiday Requirements: Must work two (2) major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and one (1) minor holiday (The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve) during the assignment period.
Licensing Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia or a compact state license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
