Travel Nurse RN - Oncology - $2,092 per week in Baton Rouge, LA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 14 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active state or compact license required Certifications: Required Must-Have: Travel experience required Oncology experience preferred Description: Travel experience is required. Oncology experience is preferred. Candidate must be willing to float within the facility as needed. Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler. Candidates must be willing to comply with all vaccine requirements. The patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Daily census and patient diagnoses will vary. Interdisciplinary support includes various services. Charting systems and patient ratios should be familiar to candidates. Skills in accessing and managing ports are essential. Experience in chemotherapy administration is crucial. Candidates should be knowledgeable in managing side effects and patient/family education. They must have experience with acute tumor lysis syndrome and anaphylaxis management. Strong communication skills are necessary to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values. Candidates will provide care coordination and support for patients. Knowledge of medication tolerance and dependence assessment is needed. Wound care and post-surgical care skills are required. PCA pump management and infusion pump management experience are essential. Understanding of radiation safety precautions is necessary. Knowledge of various cancers and their management is critical. Candidates should be familiar with isolation precautions and PPE. Phlebotomy skills and central line/implanted line care experience are important. Ability to manage various oncology treatments is a must. Familiarity with common oncology medications and their side effects is required. Candidates will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide patient care.
