Oncology Registered Nurse
Job Summary
This role is for an Oncology Registered Nurse in Zanesville, Ohio. The nurse will be responsible for planning, providing, and supervising comprehensive nursing care for oncology patients, working under the supervision of a medical oncologist. The position emphasizes direct patient care, care coordination, and adherence to established protocols.
The successful candidate will work independently to assess patient conditions, administer treatments and medications, and ensure a high standard of care. This role requires a commitment to universal precautions and strict compliance with infection control policies, collaborating effectively with other healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in accordance with physician orders and established nursing standards.
- Take and accurately record patient measurements, vital signs, and other relevant data.
- Assess patient conditions, develop care plans, and provide appropriate treatments.
- Administer prescribed medications safely and precisely, monitoring for reactions.
- Coordinate care planning with other caregivers and departments to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide leadership and collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Prior experience in Oncology nursing.
