Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1+ years License: Current RN License in the state of Missouri Certifications: BLS from AHA only, Chemo Certification, NIHSS (must obtain prior to start) Must-Have: 1 year of Med Surg/Oncology or 1 year of inpatient Oncology experience. Experience and competence in drug titration. Description: This position utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care to all age groups. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The nurse will monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort. Professional accountability for the provision of patient care is essential. The effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers will be evaluated. Patient care will be coordinated in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality of information. Duties are performed consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice. The nurse must stand and walk for most of the duty period and meet specific physical demands. Bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance, may be required. There is a high-risk exposure to blood and body fluids. Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs. Minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling may be necessary. The nursing process will be utilized for patients post-trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities.
