Travel Nurse RN - Oncology - $2,206 per week in Omaha, NE

The unit primarily cares for medical/surgical patients, with a specialty in post-operative cancer interventions. Common diagnoses include those undergoing prostatectomy and mastectomy. The patient-to-nurse ratio is approximately 1:5. Nurses are required to titrate drips including heparin, lidocaine, and TPN. Charge nurse or house supervisor responsibilities may be included. There are nurse aides on the unit, and staffing may vary based on needs. Central monitoring is available, and RNs are responsible for recognizing changes in patient conditions. The shift schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Weekend work is required every third weekend, with a total of six shifts needed over a six-week period. There is a rotating holiday requirement. Call or standby duty is not required, and floating to other medical/surgical units is rare. Scrub color or dress code is navy. Unit-specific orientation will be provided. Experience in oncology certification is a plus but not required. Travelers will not be required to administer chemotherapy due to internal competency requirements.
