Travel Nurse RN - Oncology - $2,233 per week in Aurora, CO

The unit primarily cares for patients with known cancer diagnoses requiring surgical interventions. Nursing staff will provide post-operative care to help patients achieve specific milestones for discharge. The majority of diagnoses and procedures are related to the abdomen or pelvic area, including gynecologic, colorectal, pancreatic, liver, and stomach oncology. Chemotherapy or biotherapy administration is not performed on this unit, so certifying in these areas is not necessary. Floating to other like units or sister facilities may be required based on facility needs. Standard medical equipment is utilized, with training provided during orientation. Nurses will also work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services, among others. Additional responsibilities include patient education and support as well as coordinating care. Nurses must be comfortable with flexible nurse-to-patient ratios based on unit needs.
