Travel Nurse RN - Oncology - $2,238 per week in Fountain Valley, CA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Chemo certification - Experience in accessing/managing ports - Administration of chemotherapy - Knowledge of BiPAP/CPAP management - Blood product administration - Central line care/management - Chest tube management - Understanding of cerebrovascular accidents (CVA) - Feeding tube care and management - Familiarity with heparin protocols - Knowledge of high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Adherence to isolation precautions/PPE - Management of dysrhythmias - Monitoring chemotherapy - Experience with telemetry and remote monitoring - Knowledge of wound care and wound vac management Description: The position requires an experienced oncology registered nurse. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, specifically in oncology. Floating to other units such as Med/Surg, Med/Tele, ED, and Postpartum is required. Candidates must be willing to work four weekend shifts per four-week schedule. Documentation will be done using the EPIC system. Pre-approved time off must be included in submissions. The nurse will care for adult and geriatric patients. The average daily census is between 21 and 26 patients. The unit has a total of 30 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Candidates will float within the facility based on patient census. Previous permanent staff are not eligible for rehire. Training modules are required and will include EPIC training.
