Registered Nurse (RN)- Outpatient Clinic Hematology Oncology

Shift: Day | 5x8 Hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
 

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Hematology/Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join a fast-paced outpatient oncology clinic. The ideal candidate will have strong oncology nursing experience and be comfortable coordinating complex patient care, triaging patient needs, supporting treatment plans, and collaborating closely with physicians, APPs, infusion teams, and radiation teams.

The clinic nurse plays a key role in patient education, care coordination, treatment follow-up, and management of hematology/oncology patients.
 

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday
  • Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • 5x8-hour shifts
  • No weekend coverage
  • No call required
  • Block scheduling is not available

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of RN experience
  • Oncology experience required
  • Travel experience required
  • First-time travelers not accepted
  • Active Wisconsin RN License or Compact RN License required

Required Certifications

  • BLS required

Required Clinical Experience
 

Hematology/Oncology Nursing

Experience with:

  • Medical Hematology/Oncology patient care
  • Oncology treatment coordination
  • Chemotherapy patient support
  • Patient education and symptom management
  • Recognition and communication of abnormal lab values
  • Oncology medication management

Clinic Nursing Responsibilities

The RN will be responsible for:

  • Triaging patient phone calls
  • Responding to MyChart messages
  • Entering physician orders, including labs and diagnostics
  • Following up on treatment plans
  • Coordinating genetic testing
  • Arranging and coordinating diagnostic testing
  • Providing chemotherapy education ("Chemo Talks")
  • Supporting APPs and collaborating directly with physicians
  • Coordinating care with Infusion and Radiation teams
  • Tracking INR patients with labs and medications
  • Following iron infusion patients

Oncology Specialty Experience Preferred
 

Experience caring for patients with:

  • Leukemia / Blood Dyscrasias
  • Lymphoma / Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma
  • Multiple Myeloma
  • Breast Cancer
  • Lung Cancer
  • Colorectal Cancer

  • Outpatient Medical Hematology/Oncology Clinic
  • Adult patient population
  • Fast-paced oncology setting
  • Approximately 45 patient visits per day
  • 15 clinic rooms

Candidates must have:

  • Minimum 3 years RN experience
  • Recent oncology nursing experience
  • Medical Hematology/Oncology clinic experience preferred
  • Active WI RN License or Compact License
  • BLS certification

  • Travel experience (first-time travelers not accepted)
