Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Outpatient Clinic Hematology Oncology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 3 years of Oncology experience required License: BLS, WI/Compact License Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: Oncology experience Description: Fast-paced medical hematology/oncology clinic. The clinic nurse is responsible for triaging patient phone calls. Answering My Chart messages is required. Entering physician orders including labs and diagnostics is part of the role. Following up on treatment plans and genetic testing is expected. Arranging and coordinating diagnostics for patients is necessary. Patient education, especially with chemo talks, is a key responsibility. Working closely with infusion and radiation teams to coordinate patient care is essential. Nurses will work directly with physicians to coordinate patient care. Support for advanced practice providers is expected. Tracking INR patients with labs and medications is required. Following iron infusion patients is also part of the job. Oncology experience is needed for this position. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Daily census is approximately 45 patients. The clinic has 15 rooms available for patient visits. The focus is on providing high-quality patient care in a collaborative environment.
