Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Oncology Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical and Oncology experience required. Heme Onc experience is strongly preferred. License: Must have valid compact or state license in hand at time of submission. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification preferred. Must-Have: - Computerized charting experience - Epic experience required - Patient care experience with various hematologic and oncologic diagnoses Description: The position involves caring for patients in a Medical-Surgical Oncology unit with mixed acuity. Patients may include those with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Amyloidosis, Aplastic Anemia, and various types of Lymphoma. The unit focuses on Autologous, Syngeneic, and Allogeneic transplants. Registered nurses will administer chemotherapy and manage complex patient care needs. Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring and interpreting dysrhythmias. Nurses will also perform peripheral and central line management and blood product administration. A strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety is essential. Nurses may be required to float to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units as needed. Candidates must have experience within the most recent three years. References from professional sources are required, including at least one from a managerial or supervisory position. Candidates must complete fingerprinting as part of the credentialing process. All candidates must be aware of the urgency of the credentialing requirements. Travel experience is necessary for this position.
