Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Wausau, Wisconsin. The role involves providing specialized nursing care within an Oncology unit, supporting surgical and medical oncology patients. This assignment offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative healthcare environment on a night shift schedule.

Job Details:

• Location: Wausau, WI
• Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts) from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Schedule: Nights; guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 08/17/2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, minimum of 2+ years of experience, with at least 1 year on a Medical Surgical Oncology unit preferred. Oncology experience is required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Charting Experience: Epic Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred; previous electronic charting experience necessary if no Epic experience.
• Equipment Used: Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, Alaris pumps.
• Unit Specific Skillset: Experience with MedSurg Oncology patients, mainly surgical and medical oncology cases.
• Patient Ratio: Typically 4:1 or 5:1 on days and evening shifts; night shift may have a ratio of up to 7:1 but usually 5:1, always with tech support.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to other areas within scope; float in 4-hour blocks and will float before staff RNs.
• Additional Notes: The unit may staff more RNs when C.N.As are unavailable; scrub color can be any color.
• Holiday Rotation: Every other holiday.
• Requirements during Flu Season: Mandatory mask-wearing for those declining flu and COVID vaccinations, per hospital policy.
