Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (days, nights, or rotating day/night based on department needs). Variable weekend coverage based on unit needs. Contract length: 16 weeks. Orientation: 72 hours.

Highlights:

• Mixed acuity surgical oncology unit caring for PCU and Medical-Surgical patients with a focus on breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and reconstructive plastics
• Staffing ratios: Goal of 1:4, may flex to 1:5 based on patient acuity
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and more
• Charting system: Epic EMR
• Clinical procedures include chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, oncologic emergencies, insulin and heparin drips, and chest tube care
• Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention measures

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience (current and consistent within the last 12 months)
• At least 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
• Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care
• Ability to float to other acute care oncology units within scope of practice
• Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
