Travel Nurse RN - Oncology - $2,290 per week in Springfield, IL

Job Title: Oncology Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required. License: Active state nursing license in hand or in application process. Certifications: BLS required. Chemo certification preferred. Must-Have: - Experience with chemotherapy administration, including managing and monitoring. - Proficient in IV therapy/infusion skills. - Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values. - Willingness to work every other weekend. Description: The oncology registered nurse will care for patients in an oncology unit. Experience is needed for administering chemotherapy and managing patient care. The daily patient census averages 24. There are 24 rooms/beds in the unit. The nurse will float as needed within the facility. Candidates are expected to manage and administer chemotherapy treatments. The nurse will handle body fluids post-chemotherapy and manage cytotoxic spills. Patient and family education and support will be essential aspects of the role. The oncology registered nurse will also be responsible for IV access and care. Experience in dealing with a mixed general floor with oncology and hospice patients is preferred. The role includes monitoring chemotherapy side effects and managing associated patient complications. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary support services to ensure comprehensive patient care.
