Description:
This position is for a travel RN specializing in BMT Oncology.
The role requires working in a medical surgical/telemetry unit.
The unit has a capacity of 80-100 beds on a daily basis.
There are 37 staff RNs, including full-time, part-time, and PRN positions.
The day shift runs from 07:00 to 17:30.
The staff includes 2 charge RNs, 1 resource RN, 2 medical assistants, and 16-19 RNs taking patient assignments.
Patient-to-nurse ratios are typically 1:6, with lower ratios for higher acuity patients.
Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps and ICU medical chemotherapy adapters.
The electronic medical record system in use is Meditech and Onco.
Preferred qualifications include experience in BMT or hematology oncology.
Typical procedures performed on the unit include chemotherapy administration and central line draws.
