Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Outpatient Clinic Hematology Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Valid state nursing license in hand at the time of submission Certifications: BLS Chemo (ONS/ONCC) OCN* ONS/ONCC Must-Have: EPIC charting experience Description: Work hours are 10-hour shifts from 07:30 to 18:00. Rotating day off between Monday and Wednesday. Locals are allowed at the same rate. Previous charge experience is preferred. Candidates will float within scope if needed. Candidates must have experience with accessing and managing ports. Administration of chemotherapy experience is required. Knowledge of alteration in skin and mucous membranes is essential. Candidates should have experience with bladder and kidney cancer. Familiarity with body fluid handling post-chemotherapy is important. Experience dealing with brain cancer and breast cancer is necessary. Care and management of ports is required. Central line blood draw knowledge is important. Candidates must be experienced in central line and implanted line care. Experience with colorectal cancer is preferred. Candidates should have knowledge of constipation and diarrhea management. Continuous infusion of chemotherapy experience is necessary. Familiarity with dysphagia is important. Experience with ear, nose, and throat cancers is a plus. Knowledge of assessing and managing edema is required. Candidates must have inpatient oncology experience. Understanding isolation precautions and PPE is essential. Experience with IV push administration of chemotherapy is required. Knowledge of kidney cancer is important. Familiarity with leukemia and blood dyscrasias is a plus. Candidates should have experience with lung cancer. Knowledge of lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma is helpful. Experience with managing cytotoxic spills is essential. Medication tolerance and dependence assessment experience is required. Familiarity with melanoma is preferred. Monitoring chemotherapy knowledge is necessary. Candidates should have experience with multiple myeloma. Knowledge of nausea and vomiting management is important. Familiarity with neuropathy is preferred. Candidates must be familiar with neutropenic precautions. Oral administration of chemotherapy experience is required. Knowledge of outpatient oncology is important. Experience with ovarian and uterine cancer is a plus. Familiarity with pancreatic cancer is required. Phlebotomy skills are essential. Candidates should have experience with PICC line care. Knowledge of prostate cancer is important. Understanding of recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values is necessary. Experience in recognizing and managing side effects is required. Candidates should be able to start and maintain IVs. Wound care experience is preferred. Candidates will be assigned modules during orientation which are non-billable. Modules are required to be completed while working on their unit.
