Travel Nurse RN - Oncology - $2,382 per week in Norfolk, VA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Pediatric Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Any 3 × 12 hr shifts Hours per Shift: 12 hrs Experience: 18 months of experience in an acute and chronic care setting with solid oncology experience License: Required Certifications: APHON Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Status with PALS and BLS certification Must-Have: Flu vaccination required, no exemptions Description: Start ASAP Shift: 12-hour Day/Night shifts Attentive to all types of cancer diagnoses. Administer chemotherapy, blood components, fluid and electrolyte replacements, and oncology treatments. Assess patient conditions and manage side effects. Offer emotional support to patients and their families. Display appropriate prioritization skills in a fast-paced setting. Inpatient Hematology Oncology includes a 16-bed unit. Most Hematology Oncology patients remain in a 3:1 (patients to nurse) ratio. If there are medical/surgical patients on the unit, this may fluctuate to 4:1. A charge nurse is present without a patient assignment for every shift. A team lead nurse is also present without a patient assignment to assist with double checks, high alert drugs, procedures, transporting patients, etc. Nursing Care Partners provide nursing assistant tasks.
