**Job Description:**
- Are you passionate about providing compassionate care to patients undergoing chemotherapy?
- As a Chemotherapy Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering direct and indirect patient services to individuals in need of chemotherapy.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Communicate efficiently with Chemotherapy Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Manager, and co-workers regarding changes in patient conditions.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient and unit conditions to ensure safe and quality care.
- Perform a variety of duties, adapting seamlessly from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
- Take responsibly for planning, directing, and controlling activities.
- Keep patient confidentiality a priority while conveying empathy to those experiencing pain, grief, or trauma.
- Foster teamwork and cooperation in all interactions.
- Effectively and therapeutically communicate with patients from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Support the hospital’s mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Engage in required education and training particular to your role.
**Qualifications:**
- Required: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing with 3+ years of experience in acute care or medical/surgical nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and prior oncology experience.
- Required: Current RN license in the State of Oregon, BLS certification, and ONS Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card.
- Preferred: Oncology Nursing Certification (to pursue within 3 years of hire).
**Knowledge and Skills:**
- Ability to provide age-specific, culturally competent care.
- Strong communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Excellent critical thinking abilities.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to detect and respond to various sounds and engage in effective communication.
- Visual acuity for patient monitoring, documentation, and medication identification.
- Capable of performing fine motor tasks and various physical activities as needed.
