Pre-malignant conditions, Cancer, Allied hematological disorders Special Procedures/Unit Details : The THO Treatment Center provides the following services: Venous access management Blood transfusions Chemotherapy Non-chemotherapy infusions Symptom managementRN Staff are scheduled in anticipation of patient workload to provide direct patient care on a ratio of 1:1 - 1:8 depending on patient acuity. Support staff of certified medical assistants (MA) are scheduled 0730-1730 Monday through Friday. A pharmacist is available 5 days per week. Adjustments are made based on patient need. The THO Treatment Center provides outpatient services for adult hematology, oncology and other medical specialty patients. Services provided include medical hematology and oncology consultation and treatment. Ancillary services include on-site psychosocial support, pharmacy, laboratory, diagnostic imaging, nutritional support and financial counseling.Scope and complexity of patient needs are based on diagnoses. Once this is established, the practitioner identifies the appropriate course of treatment for the individual. Patient needs are further identified based on complexity of treatment, support systems and psychosocial issues. Direct Physician THO Treatment Center is under the direction of the THO Medical Director.Clinical care is provided under the direct medical supervision (located within the department) by one or more of the following at all times to provide immediate direction and assistance pre intra post procedure: Medical Oncologists Staffing Assignments are made by the charge nurse of the area and will reflect the acuity of care required by the patient. Nursing assignments will follow THO nursing policy and procedures for staff assignment.
