Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Bone Marrow Transplant & Hematology Oncology – Ohio

Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts (days/nights or combination based on department needs); reviewed every 4-week scheduling period; one pre-approved time off period available
Highlights:
- Specialized Bone Marrow Transplant unit caring for patients with hematologic malignancies including ALL, AML, multiple myeloma, lymphomas, and myelodysplastic syndromes
- Advanced therapeutic interventions including autologous, allogeneic, and syngeneic transplants, plus CAR-T therapy
- Mixed acuity progressive care and medical-surgical oncology environment with 36-bed capacity and average daily census of 33 patients
- EPIC electronic medical record system with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Comprehensive orientation of 72 hours to support your transition to this specialized unit
- Interdisciplinary team collaboration with interpretation services and strong infection prevention protocols
Requirements:
- Current Ohio RN license or valid compact license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience; must be current and consistent within the last 12 months
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient hematology oncology and medical-surgical experience required
- Required experience with leukemia/blood dyscrasias, lymphomas (including non-Hodgkin's), and multiple myeloma
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred)
- EPIC charting system experience required
- Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Ability to complete urgent Ohio fingerprinting process upon contract signing
- Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
Key Clinical Skills:
- Chemotherapy administration and post-chemotherapy body fluid handling
- Blood and blood product administration
- Central line management including ports, PICC lines, sterile dressing changes, and blood draws
- Care of bone marrow transplant patients including recognition of graft rejection and graft-versus-host disease
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Feeding tube care, isolation precautions, and sepsis recognition
- Recognition and communication of abnormal laboratory values

Float coverage may be required to other medical-surgical oncology units. Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only). Former employees eligible after 6 months separation from facility. Strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start date with no exceptions. Locals accepted at the same contract rate.
