Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Hematology/Oncology – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (Days/Nights or Nights only); variable weekend coverage based on unit needs; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period

Highlights

• 24-bed acute care hematology/oncology unit specializing in newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
• Goal staffing ratio of 1:4 (may flex to 1:5 based on census)
• High-acuity medical unit with significant blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
• Strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety initiatives
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Pharmacy, Respiratory Services, Physical Therapy, Rapid Response Teams, and Social Services
• Epic electronic medical record system with GE telemetry monitoring
• 72 hours of orientation provided

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of overall nursing experience required
• Current acute care experience within the last 12 months in medical-surgical oncology and inpatient hematology/oncology
• Documented experience with leukemia/blood dyscrasias required
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification
• Certifications Preferred: NIHSS
• Skills Required: Telemetry interpretation, blood product administration, central line/PICC line management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access and management, feeding tube care, chemotherapy administration and monitoring, acute tumor lysis syndrome management, sepsis recognition
• Epic charting experience required
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
