Description:
We are seeking a Medical Surgical Oncology RN for a specialized oncology department.
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in medical surgical oncology.
The position requires float shifts and weekend availability.
Caribbean blue scrubs will be required, but not provided.
This role involves caring for patients with various cancers including bladder, kidney, breast, colorectal, liver, lung, ovarian, uterine, pancreatic, and prostate cancers.
Candidates must have experience in administering chemotherapy, including continuous infusion and IV push administration.
Knowledge of chemotherapy safety, including management and disposal of cytotoxic spills, is essential.
Candidate should be capable of monitoring chemotherapy side effects and communicating abnormal lab values.
The successful candidate will also administer antibiotics, antiemetics, and hormone therapies.
Additional skills in pain management, advanced directives, and patient education are preferred.
Applicants should demonstrate strong care coordination abilities and familiarity with various patient care procedures, such as tracheostomy and colostomy management.
Team collaboration, especially with pediatric teams, and the ability to handle diverse clinical situations are crucial.
