We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a dynamic role in Columbia, Missouri. This position offers the opportunity to provide specialized care across Medical-Surgical, Neurology, and Oncology adult patient populations within a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing a diverse range of complex medical conditions and acute care needs.
The patient population includes individuals with stroke, various cancer diagnoses, palliative and end-of-life care needs, mental status changes, seizures, and post-operative neurosurgery patients (Craniotomy, Laminectomy, Shunt procedures). Responsibilities also encompass managing complications of chemotherapy and administering chemotherapy treatments. This role requires a flexible and adaptable professional capable of handling fluctuating patient assignments and unit demands.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with complex medical conditions, including neurological disorders and oncological diagnoses.
Administer chemotherapy and manage associated symptoms and complications.
Assist with specialized unit procedures such as Bone Marrow Biopsies and EEG/Continuous Monitoring.
Manage a patient load of up to 8 patients when needed, ensuring high-quality care delivery.
Monitor and manage patients experiencing mental status changes and seizures.
Provide palliative and end-of-life care.
Care for post-operative neurosurgery patients (Craniotomy, Laminectomy, Shunt procedures).
Float to other Medical-Surgical units as required by patient census and unit needs.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Willingness to float to other Medical-Surgical areas.
Ability to manage a patient assignment of up to 8 patients when necessary.

Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in administering general medications and chemotherapy.
Competence with IV pumps, PCA pumps, and other general medical equipment.
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for diverse patient populations.
Ability to manage complex cases including stroke, cancer, palliative care, and post-operative neurosurgery.
Experience with Bone Marrow Biopsy assistance and EEG/Continuous Monitoring.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Adaptability and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, fluctuating environment.
Shift Details
Shift Type: Nights (NOC)
Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (12.5-hour shifts)
Days per Week: 5 days per week
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Start Date: September 21, 2026
Weekend Rotation: Required to work at least 4 weekend shifts within a 6-week period.
Call Requirements: No call required.

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
