We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse with a specialty in Oncology for a 13-week contract assignment in State College, Pennsylvania. This role is based in an outpatient setting, focusing on providing comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the healthcare team, delivering professional nursing care, assisting providers, and actively engaging patients, families, and caregivers in the coordination of care. This position requires a commitment to established standards of practice and a patient-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities
Provide professional nursing care to oncology patients following established standards, practices, and healthcare techniques.
Demonstrate competence in making professional judgments pertaining to patient care.
Assist providers in patient care activities and deliver comprehensive patient education.
Actively participate as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in the coordination of patient care.
Administer a variety of medications and treatments as prescribed.
Utilize various types of medical equipment for examination and treatment procedures.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Minimum of one (1) year of direct oncology nursing experience.
Current ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card, or ability to obtain within two (2) weeks of hire.

Clinical Skills: Proficient in practical nursing principles, examination, diagnostic, and treatment procedures, medication administration, and patient education. Competent in the utilization of various medical equipment.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of common safety hazards and precautions, office procedures, and medical terminology. Basic knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to read, understand, and follow instructions. Ability to react calmly and effectively during emergency situations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize, make confident decisions, and recommend effective solutions.
Shift Details
Shift Type: Full-time, AM shifts.
Shift Duration: 8 hours per shift.
Days per Week: 5 days per week.
Hours: Shifts typically fall between 07:00 AM and 05:00 PM (e.g., 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM or 08:30 AM - 05:00 PM).
Days: Monday - Friday.

Licensing Requirements
Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Pennsylvania.
