Position: RN-Medical Surgical Oncology

Facility: City of Hope Orange County Cancer Specialty Hospital

Location: Irvine, CA 92618

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Night 3x12 Hour

Requirements

Years of Experience: 3 year(s)

Charting System: Preferred , Epic

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC)

• Use of Pyxis medication system and EPIC documentation
• SBAR communication required

Required Skills & Experience:

• Inpatient Oncology care
• Experience with cancers: bladder, kidney, breast, colorectal, liver, lung, ovarian/uterine, pancreatic, and prostate
• Chemotherapy administration (IV push, continuous infusion, oral)
• Handling body fluids post-chemotherapy
• Management and disposal of cytotoxic spills
• Monitoring patients during chemotherapy
• Recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values
• Medication administration: antibiotics, antiemetics, antitumor agents, corticosteroids, hormonal therapy, Neupogen
• Post-surgical care
