Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology | Local & Travel Contract

Location: New York, NY 10029
Contract Duration: 13+Weeks
Start Date: 8/31/2026
Shift: Days | 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Hours: 38 Hours/Week
Employment Type: Local & Travel Contract
Local Pay: $60/hr on W2 Without Benefits

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with Oncology experience for a contract assignment at a nationally recognized academic medical center in New York City. This opportunity is open to both local and travel nurses.

The RN will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to oncology patients in an outpatient or hospital-based cancer center. The ideal candidate will have experience with chemotherapy administration, oncology patient intake, and care coordination while working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary oncology team.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients throughout diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Perform patient assessments and oncology intake evaluations.
  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications according to established protocols.
  • Monitor patients for treatment response and adverse reactions.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on chemotherapy, medications, symptom management, and treatment plans.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR.
  • Ensure compliance with oncology safety standards, infection prevention protocols, and quality initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Active New York State RN License
  • BSN Required
  • BLS (AHA) Certification
  • ACLS (AHA) Certification
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Oncology experience in a hospital or outpatient setting
  • Chemotherapy administration experience required
  • Oncology intake experience required
  • Epic EMR experience highly preferred
  • Excellent communication, patient education, and critical thinking skills
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred for travel candidates (not required for local candidates)
Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Required
