Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with Oncology experience for a contract assignment at a nationally recognized academic medical center in New York City. This opportunity is open to both local and travel nurses.
The RN will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to oncology patients in an outpatient or hospital-based cancer center. The ideal candidate will have experience with chemotherapy administration, oncology patient intake, and care coordination while working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary oncology team.
Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients throughout diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
- Perform patient assessments and oncology intake evaluations.
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications according to established protocols.
- Monitor patients for treatment response and adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and caregivers on chemotherapy, medications, symptom management, and treatment plans.
- Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR.
- Ensure compliance with oncology safety standards, infection prevention protocols, and quality initiatives.
Required Qualifications- Active New York State RN License
- BSN Required
- BLS (AHA) Certification
- ACLS (AHA) Certification
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Minimum 2 years of recent Oncology experience in a hospital or outpatient setting
- Chemotherapy administration experience required
- Oncology intake experience required
- Epic EMR experience highly preferred
- Excellent communication, patient education, and critical thinking skills
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred for travel candidates (not required for local candidates)
Education- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Required
