Registered Nurse - Oncology

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Days | 10-Hour Shifts | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM | No Weekends or Holidays | 72 Hours Guaranteed Biweekly
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct hematology/oncology nursing care in an outpatient clinic setting
- Perform heavy triage, responding to patient questions and clinical concerns
- Obtain authorizations for imaging studies including PET scans
- Process medication renewals and manage related patient communications
- Complete administrative documentation including FMLA paperwork
- Coordinate patient care across the hematology/oncology care team
Required Qualifications- Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of hematology/oncology (HemOnc) nursing experience required
- ONS/ONCC chemotherapy and immunotherapy certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Experience with hematology patient care and care coordination
Preferred Experience / Skills- 4–5 years of hematology/oncology experience (may offset requirement for formal care coordinator experience)
- Prior experience in an outpatient oncology clinic or ambulatory care setting
