Key Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.
- Assists physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes patient manifestations, and intervenes when necessary.
- Administers medications as prescribed and initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Interacts with patients and families to share care plans during hospitalization and at discharge, and informs them of relevant procedures.
- Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services with proficiency in nursing techniques.
