Registered Nurse – Oncology PCU / Med-Surg

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a mixed PCU, Oncology, and Med-Surg unit serving an adult patient population
  • Manage and titrate drips including chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, and protonix
  • Monitor and respond to hemodynamic parameters including CVP, A-line, Swan, and EV-1000 as needed
  • Perform hourly rounding and maintain patient experience standards throughout the shift
  • Float to same-level-of-care Med-Surg and PCU units as needed
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including PT/OT, RN case management, social work, dietary, and unit educators
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license with a minimum of 1 year of PCU and/or Oncology experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • ONS/ONCC certification required
  • Ability to pass a facility-administered open-book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher during orientation
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR and Alaris IV pumps
  • Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; compliance is required as a condition of assignment
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Chemotherapy certification (preferred but not required)
  • Experience with ventilator management and advanced hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000, ICP)
  • Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers are accepted
  • EPIC experience within the past 6 months is a plus
