Travel RN – Oncology (Nights)

Contract | Nights (19:00–07:30) | 13-Week Assignment | 36 or 48 Hours Per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for an inpatient oncology unit serving oncology, neuro overflow, medical, and end-of-life patients
  • Administer medications accurately and document care using an electronic medical record system
  • Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
  • Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and maintain professional accountability
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards and regulations
  • Float to other units within the med/surg service line as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Current RN license; must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold a Missouri RN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient oncology experience
  • Proficiency in medication administration, EMR documentation, and physical assessment
  • Flu vaccination required (November 1 – April 1); approved exemptions accepted, declinations are not
  • Must be available the full orientation week; night shift orients on day shift
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • ONS Chemotherapy Certification
  • Experience with Alaris pumps, NOVA glucometers, remote telemetry, and EPIC EMR
  • Team-oriented, reliable, and flexible personality with the ability to adapt to unit needs
