Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology night shift position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and BLS certification.

Details

• Hospital-based Medical Surgical Oncology unit
• Night shift schedule, 6:45 pm - 7:15 am
• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift (36 hours weekly)
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required by the start of clinical care
• BLS certification required
• Two or more years of RN experience required
• One year of acute care/inpatient hospital RN experience preferred
• ACLS certification may be required for certain units, with training provided if needed

Additional Information

• Deliver patient care using the nursing process under the direction of a physician and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
• Coordinate and document plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient responses
• Prioritize care based on patient and family needs, including complex care and discharge planning
• Communicate with patients and families to develop and update care plans using cultural competency and active listening
• Foster intra- and interdepartmental collaboration to support clinical and operational excellence
• Promote a safe, clean environment through infection control and standard precautions
• Complete annual competency assessments per organizational checklist
• Reports to the Nurse Manager/Director
