Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Travel Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment on a Pulmonary/Thoracic Step-Down Unit in Sandy Springs, Georgia. This role is ideal for a highly skilled RN looking to provide specialized care in a dynamic hospital environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive care of intermediate medical patients with a variety of complex conditions, including high-risk respiratory issues, and post-operative recovery from cardiac thoracic, hepatobiliary, and head/neck surgeries. You will manage patients requiring diverse levels of respiratory support, from room air to advanced interventions like BiPAP and Optiflow.

This is a travel assignment; candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility location.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for intermediate medical and post-surgical patients on a Pulmonary/Thoracic Step-Down Unit.
• Monitor and manage patients with high-risk respiratory conditions, including those requiring BiPAP and Optiflow support.
• Administer and titrate medications, perform assessments, and implement evidence-based nursing interventions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Respond to emergent situations and provide critical care interventions as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent, acute care experience in a Pulmonary/Thoracic, Intermediate Care, or Step-Down Unit.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Sandy Springs, Georgia.

Preferred Qualifications

• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

• Proficiency in respiratory assessment and management, including experience with BiPAP and Optiflow.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights (NOC)
• Shift Duration: 12 hours (typically 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Assignment Dates: September 9, 2026 - December 12, 2026
• Holiday Requirements: Must work two (2) major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and one (1) minor holiday (The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve) if they fall within the assignment period.
