Job Description
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for surgical patients.
- Prepare operating rooms, ensure proper equipment setup, and maintain sterile fields.
- Assist surgeons and surgical teams intraoperatively, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Provide patient and family education regarding surgical procedures and postoperative expectations.
- Monitor patients’ physiological responses during surgery and communicate changes promptly.
- Handle surgical specimens according to policy and regulatory standards.
- Document all aspects of care accurately in Epic EMR.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond within 30 minutes when called back.
- Support and mentor staff or travelers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Comply with all facility, state, and federal regulations governing patient care.
