About the Facility:
Licensed for 457 beds.
Level 3 Trauma designation.
Stroke Center of Excellence.
Bariatric Center of Excellence.
Chest Pain Center.
Radius rule: Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit.
Department Information:
19 OR suites with 17 rooms blocked.
Average 50 cases per day.
Will not accept first-time travelers.
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
Surgery specialties include Trauma, ortho trauma, ortho total joints, spine, hearts, vascular, GYN, GYN-Oncology, Robotics, General, HPB, Bariatrics, Urology, ENT, Eyes, Pain, and Plastics.
Required Skills:
Experience circulating in trauma, ortho trauma, ortho total joints, spine, vascular, GYN, GYN-Oncology, Robotics, General, HPB, Bariatrics, Urology, ENT, and Plastics is necessary.
Experience with laparoscopic and open belly cases is essential.
Charge RN experience and scrubbing proficiency required for night shift contracts.
Must be flexible, self-driven, and a motivated team player.
Support Within the Department:
Includes clinical supervisors, charge nurses, educators, unit secretaries, and tech engineers.
Technology/Equipment:
Typical OR equipment utilized in the unit.
Scheduling Information:
Weekend rotation every fourth weekend.
Weekend coverage could be call or scheduled shifts based on need.
Call required: Average of 6 call shifts per 6-week schedule with a 45-minute response time.
Holiday expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays.
Schedule cycle is every 6 weeks.
