Travel Nurse RN - Operating Room - $2,106 per week in Shreveport, LA

Job Title: Registered Nurse - OR Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: OR Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10H Days Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience, OR-specific experience preferred License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: Robotics (Davinci) experience is required. Neuro Spine/Neuro Vascular experience is required. Transplant experience is strongly preferred. Cardio/Thoracic experience is strongly preferred. Description: The facility has 13 ORs for general use. The registered nurse will circulate and may scrub if they have the experience, though scrubbing is not required. Patient types include robotic, bariatric, neuro-spine, neuro-vascular, urology, and transplants. Required case types include robotic laminectomy, fusion, discectomy, craniotomies, and aneurysm clipping. General surgeries include lap chole, nephrectomy, and Whipple. Bariatric procedures include Roux-en-Y and gastric sleeve. Urology procedures include cystoscopy, TURPs, bladder tumor resection, and stone removal. Transplant procedures will include kidney, liver, and pancreas. The traveler will be required to pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance prior to arrival. The role may involve covering transplant call and requires strong communication skills with the anesthesia team. The traveler will have flexibility in scheduling and must be available for weekend rotation. The holiday rotation for call coverage is needed, working during 2 out of the 3 major holidays. A 30-minute call back time is mandatory. Scrub color will be pewter gray, and personal scrubs must be worn to the facility. The culture on the unit is team-oriented. Travelers should be prepared to work collaboratively and support fellow staff members.
