Description:
Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as defined by professional standards.
Demonstrates competency through the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Upholds standards of professional performance, including ethical practice and evidence-based practice.
Strives to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Education must include an Associate's Degree in Nursing.
Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program is required.
Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills necessary.

Analytical and strong problem-solving skills needed.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and listen to others is important.
Competency in the use of computer hardware and software systems is required.
Essential Functions:
Provides evidence-based nursing care consistent with the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures.

Performs point of care testing as required.

Assesses the overall needs of the patient/family and analyzes data to identify potential issues.

Evaluates patient and family educational needs and employs appropriate teaching strategies.
Initiates patient discharge planning at the time of contact.
Ensures accurate and timely documentation.
Assumes leadership roles and delegates appropriately to facilitate safe, quality patient care.
Engages in activities related to professional role and seeks to continually advance knowledge and competence.
Participates in ongoing improvement activities that contribute to quality patient care.
Actively participates in safety initiatives and completes all required competencies and requirements in a timely manner.
