Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 2+ years License: Current RN License in Missouri Certifications: BLS from AHA only Must-Have Skills/Experience: 2 years Level 1 or 2 Trauma Experience Scrub and OR Circulator experience Description: Position requires an RN in the Operating Room. This role involves assisting with procedures in the Operating Room and Hybrid Imaging suite. The RN will work with a team of nurses and surgical techs for endoscopic and open cases. Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties in a manner consistent with established guidelines and nursing practice standards. Direct patient care activities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities to optimize patient comfort. Demonstrated skill in human relations and communication is required. Must have demonstrated clinical expertise in this area of responsibility. Physical demands include standing and walking for most of the duty period. Ability to lift and push patients on stretchers. May involve physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and gripping.
