Travel Nurse RN - Operating Room - $2,300 to $2,400 per week in Saint Louis, MO

Provides direct perioperative nursing care including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.

Performs patient assessments, verifies surgical consents, confirms procedure details, and ensures compliance with safety protocols such as time-outs and universal precautions.

Functions as Circulating Nurse and/or Scrub Nurse as assigned, maintaining sterile technique and surgical field integrity.

Prepares operating room, equipment, instruments, and supplies according to procedure requirements.

Assists surgeons and anesthesia providers during surgical procedures as needed.

Administers medications and IV fluids per physician orders and hospital policy.

Monitors patient condition throughout surgical procedures and responds promptly to changes in patient status.

Ensures accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and surgical logs.

Adheres to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards, including AORN guidelines.

Demonstrates courteous and respectful communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members, following Mercy’s customer service standards.

Operates and maintains OR equipment; reports equipment malfunctions promptly.

Participates in emergency procedures, trauma cases, and on-call responsibilities as required.
