Job Title: Registered Professional Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Wound Care, Surgical Technologist, Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days/Nights Hours per Shift: 32 hours guaranteed Experience: Minimum of 4 years License: Must be licensed in good standing as a Registered Professional Nurse Certifications: Current BLS & ACLS, PALS preferred Must-Have: - Completion of a nursing program from an NLN approved institution - Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred - Minimum 1-2 years of OR experience - National Certification in Surgery/PACU preferred Description: Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Is responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care for patients based on nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. Serves as a resource person when the situation requires. Applies age-specific considerations and cultural diversity when rendering patient care. Supports the organization’s mission statement. Responsible for care of all patients from birth to elderly during pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care. Cognitive and technical knowledge required with the ability to manage care across the continuum of care. Must be flexible with work schedule and possess the ability for independent actions within prescribed limits. Able to utilize the nursing process in the provision of patient care. Able to administer treatments, medications, interpret diagnostic tests, and provide patient/family/significant other education. Knowledge of medical terminology is essential. Ability to work in a patient care setting. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to document actions involved in care delivery. Ability to follow guidelines and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Theoretical knowledge of the nursing process, care management, and continuity of care is required. Mathematical skills needed to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, draw and interpret graphs, and input computer information. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Supervisory responsibilities include collaboration with administrative assistants and staff in coordination with the charge nurse. All travelers are required to show proof of completed COVID vaccinations.
