Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license Certifications: BSN preferred Must-Have: Strong communication skills Must-Have: Thorough knowledge of sterile technique Must-Have: Commitment to teamwork Description: Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the operating room and other areas of perioperative services. Acts as a patient advocate. Responsible for meeting surgical standards of nursing practice. Maintains skills in setting priorities and organizing workload effectively. Adjusts to changes in assignment and integrates multiple assignments with multilevel personnel. Develops and implements total nursing care for patients through assessment, nursing diagnosis, and patient care plans. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with nursing and other patient team personnel. Maintains standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Participates and implements age-specific care and interaction. Collaborates with the healthcare team in the assessment of the patient/family. Performs comprehensive assessments on all patients, including reassessments as per policy. Adequately assesses and reassesses pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
