Travel Nurse RN - Operating Room - $2,435 per week in Alexandria, VA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10 hours Hours per Shift: 0700 - 1730 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current Virginia License Certifications: BLS (for RN and Tech), CST Must-Have: Experience in Orthopedics, including total joints and ortho spine, general, urology, and DaVinci Xi. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room. The unit has 7 operating room suites. The average number of cases per day is between 15 and 25. Required certifications include Basic Life Support for RNs and Technicians, and Certified Surgical Technologist. Common cases handled include general and colorectal surgeries (laparoscopic, open, and DaVinci Xi), total joint orthopedic surgeries (hips, knees, and shoulders), arthroscopy, ortho spine, urology, and both medical and cosmetic plastics. Scrubbing is required for RNs. Charge nurse responsibilities may also be part of the role. There is a call requirement of 2-3 weekends in a six-week schedule period, with additional call potentially required during weeknights and weekends as needed. Holidays will include one major holiday. Call response time is expected to be within 45 minutes. Floating to other areas of the facility is not required. Orientation will involve a five-day program focusing on both hospital and unit specifics. Scrubs will be provided. Experience with the EPIC electronic medical record system is needed. This role does not involve additional floating expectations. Weekend expectations primarily revolve around on-call requirements. On-call expectations include 2-3 twelve-hour call shifts within a six-week period. The holiday expectation includes one major holiday. Epic access is necessary for this position.
