Job Title: Perioperative RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: Experience in critical access hospitals Must be well-rounded in surgical services Ability to follow the patient from pre-op to discharge Description: This position requires a Perioperative RN with strong surgical services experience. The RN will float between units as per departmental needs. On-call duty is required, with variable call on weekends and nights. The RN will be expected to work every 3rd or 4th weekend based on rotation and time-off requests. Block schedules are not required. The expected patient ratios are 1:1, 1:2, and 1:4. Specialties included in this position are Client, Ortho, GI/GS, ENT, Pain, and Dental. The responsibilities include all areas within the surgery department, including Pre/Post op, Circulating, PACU, and Endo. The EMR used is Epic. The unit will require flexibility to work within different departments in surgical services. The RN must be able to circulate specific procedures including C-sections. Additionally, this role requires familiarity with various surgical interventions such as appendectomy, hysterectomy, and orthopedic procedures. The RN should possess skills in areas such as infection control, specimen handling, and patient monitoring. Interdisciplinary support includes various services such as Physical Therapy and Radiology. Experience working in a critical access hospital is necessary. The RN must demonstrate strong clinical judgment and effective communication skills. Overall, this position offers a comprehensive experience in perioperative nursing within a collaborative team environment.
