Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 3 years required License: Compact or state license required Certifications: BLS required ACLS preferred PALS preferred CNOR preferred Must-Have: Epic experience required Previous charge experience required Travel experience required Description: Ensure traveler is aware of potential assignments to an "Emergency Team." There is an expectation to stay until an emergency event passes or to be part of the relief team. Specific pay details for each emergency event will be communicated as impacts vary. By accepting the position, travelers agree to report as assigned by their immediate unit manager during emergencies. Candidates must be willing to work two of the four designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Although Halloween is not a paid holiday, some units may require coverage. Holiday assignments are based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation. Unit includes 10 operating rooms and averages a daily census of 20-25. Call duty is once per week and one weekend per month is expected. Previous experience should include a variety of surgical procedures. Patient care experience across multiple age groups, including neonates to geriatrics, is essential. Interdisciplinary support is available, including radiology and pharmacy services. The facility does not accept local travelers unless they reside over 65 miles from the facility. All travelers must have two years of specialty experience. References from two supervisors or managers will be required to start the contract. NURSYS reports must be current within four weeks of submission. Modules are completed during orientation and are factored into orientation hours.
