Job Description
- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Prepare the OR for surgeries, ensuring that instruments, supplies, and equipment are available and sterile.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists intraoperatively by anticipating needs and ensuring adherence to sterile field practices.
- Monitor patient status throughout the perioperative process, documenting and communicating any changes to the surgical team.
- Ensure accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps according to facility policy.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and quality standards.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding surgical procedures and postoperative care.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal outcomes.
