Description:
Applicants need to have trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic experience due to trauma status.
May need to cover one night shift within the contract as needed.
Years of experience required: 2.
First-timers accepted.
Weekend work is required.
On-call responsibilities will be distributed equally among all nursing staff every six weeks.
Call could be up to 6-8 shifts in a six-week period, including nights, evenings, and weekends.
This position may require floating between like units.
Staffing support is available from respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries.
Patient demographics include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
Daily census averages 25 cases.
Units typically work with a patient ratio of 10 RNs and 6 surgical techs during the day.
Night shifts are staffed with 2 personnel, either 1 RN/1 surgical tech or 2 RNs, with one that acts as a scrub.
The unit requires RNs with trauma, orthopedic, general, vascular, neuro, plastics, and ENT experience.
Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities as needed.
Refusal to float may result in assignment termination.
Additional duties may include performing specific surgical procedures such as abdominal surgeries, trauma care, and robotic surgeries.
Travelers must be willing to work two out of three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.
References are required covering recent experience within the last three years.
Modules are non-billable and will be completed pre-start and annually.
Time spent on modules is self-reported.
