Description:
Utilizing the nursing process, the Registered Nurse is responsible for providing immediate and long-term nursing care needs of patients within the standards of the department, hospital, and regulatory agencies.
Accurately assesses patients' needs.
Utilizes multiple data sources to determine actual and potential health problems and functional status.
Utilizes a recovery-oriented framework to identify patient strengths.
Performs point of care testing.
Communicates findings effectively to members of the healthcare team.
Documentation reflects response to intervention and demonstrates an understanding of patients' response to treatment interventions.
Identifies patient behaviors that contribute to the development of a crisis and utilizes non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate crisis situations.
Accurately plans nursing interventions for assigned patients.
Modifies and individualizes the nursing plan of care and protocols.
Participates in the development of the multidisciplinary treatment plan.
Demonstrates the ability to prioritize patient care needs.
Partners with patients and families to support recovery goals.
Provides and implements nursing care interventions.
Establishes a therapeutic alliance with assigned patients.
Demonstrates safe, accurate, and timely medication administration using BMV scanning.
Reviews physician orders in a timely manner.
Promotes interventions that provide the least restrictive alternatives and recovery-oriented goals.
Participates in leading patient groups.
Accurately evaluates the effectiveness of nursing care interventions.
Documentation on the nursing plan of care, protocols, and assessment flowsheets reflects response to intervention and demonstrates an understanding of patients' responses to treatment interventions.
Accurately communicates patients' clinical status during clinical team rounds and change of shift reports.
Utilizes evidence-based nursing knowledge to guide practice decisions.
Provides a leadership role in organizing and providing patient care.
Provides direction and supervision of MHSs.
Delegates care interventions.
Assumes a leadership role in medical and psychiatric emergencies.
Promotes and provides for critical incident debriefing following emergency events.
