Travel Nurse RN - Operating Room - $2,696 per week in Olney, MD

Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of General Surgery experience required. Previous travel experience is required. License: Must have a valid nursing license. Certifications: BLS certification is required. Must-Have: Must have previous charge experience. Must provide two supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years. Description: The Operating Room Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing care in the operating room. Weekly orientation will be held every Monday. The preferred start dates are in late August. The position requires a flexible schedule with two shifts: 06:45 - 15:15 and 10:45 - 19:15. Call is required, up to 12 hours per week, including weekend call from Friday evening to Sunday evening. Every other holiday coverage is mandatory. Scrubs will be provided. Travel candidates must have completed at least one travel assignment. No requested time off is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment. A maximum of 7 days of requested time off is allowed during the 13-week contract. Candidates will have various patient age groups, including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The daily census will include approximately 25 operating room cases. There are seven operating rooms within the unit. It is essential to be proficient in various surgical procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and total joint replacement. Candidates must also be familiar with universal protocol and infection control standards. Compliance with specific training modules will be required upon hire. The successful candidate will demonstrate skills in infection control, specimen handling, and code response.
