Key Responsibilities of the Travel Nurse:
- Provide safe, high-quality perioperative care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring proper instrumentation and equipment setup
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to achieve optimal outcomes
- Monitor patients' vital signs and responses to anesthesia and surgical procedures
- Adhere to all AORN standards, infection control policies, and hospital protocols
- Support efficient operating room flow and maintain accurate documentation of all care provided
- Provide compassionate education and reassurance to patients and families pre- and post-surgery
Requirements of the Travel Nurse:
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license (or compact license)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (CNOR certification preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years' recent Operating Room nursing experience
