Travelers should be prepared to work some variable shifts, mainly starting at 8:30. There are no restrictions on requested time off apart from standard compliance. Travelers should expect to float within the facility or nearby sister facilities. Refusal to float may result in assignment termination. The unit specializes in various procedures including orthopedics, urology, general surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, podiatry, and pain management. It is essential to have experience with relevant surgical procedures and the ability to handle cases in a fast-paced environment. Providers are expected to engage with interdisciplinary support, including unit secretaries, and to be involved in infection control practices. The working environment requires adherence to universal protocols, including safety measures for laser and radiation procedures. Daily routines may include handling specimen labeling, urinary bladder catheterization, and wound management. Candidates must be willing to work two out of three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. References covering one year of experience within the last three years are required.
