Travel Nurse RN - Operating Room - $2,935 per week in Oak Lawn, IL

Job Title: Surgical Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Administration Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: 2-3 years of acute care experience (3 years of hybrid experience for Hybrid Tech) License: Required Nursing License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CST, CSA, ARR Must-Have: EPIC experience Description: About the Facility: This facility is a Level I Trauma Center. It has Magnet Designation and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. There are a total of 794 beds available. Unit Information: The unit has 28 beds, including 2 hybrid rooms for CV/Vascular procedures. The average number of cases performed daily ranges from 60-75. Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: The unit treats both outpatient and inpatient cases. Common diagnoses include traumatic injuries, organ transplants, and various surgical procedures. Hybrid rooms see between 5-10 cases daily, depending on the schedule. The patient demographic includes adults primarily, with approximately 20% being pediatric cases. Required Skills: OR Nurses should be able to scrub and circulate. Critical care experience is preferred. Trauma experience should be at least at a Level 1-2. Familiarity with EPIC is required for all positions. Support within the Department: The charge nurse has no patient assignment and can assist on weekends and evenings. An anesthesiologist will provide bedside monitoring. Resource nurses and educators are available for support. EPIC super-users will be present to assist with technology needs. Technology/Equipment: The electronic medical record system used is EPIC. IV pumps and medication dispensing will be through specific systems. Scheduling: Weekend rotation is required every 4th weekend. Shifts include varied start times, including early morning and evening. The scheduling is based on rotation, and there is no self-scheduling allowed. Holiday Requirements: Holiday coverage is required. On-call responsibilities will depend on shifts and service lines. A response time of 30 minutes is expected for on-call personnel.
