Travel Nurse RN - Operating Room - $2,949 per week in Oak Lawn, IL

Job Title: Surgical Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Administration Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 2-3 years of acute care experience (3 years for Hybrid Tech) License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CST, CSA (as applicable) Must-Have: Experience in acute care settings Ability to scrub and circulate surgical cases Experience with EPIC EMR system Description: This position is for a Surgical Room Nurse. The facility is a Level I Trauma Center with Magnet designation. It accommodates a total of 794 beds. The unit has 28 beds and can handle approximately 60-75 surgical cases per day. Patient types include outpatient, inpatient, and trauma cases. Common diagnoses include gunshot wounds, stabbings, transplants, and various surgical procedures across multiple specialties including general, GYN, urology, robotics, vascular, orthopedic, neurological, and open-heart cases. The hybrid room sees between 5-10 cases daily, primarily for adult patients. Experience with Siemens equipment is required for Hybrid IR Tech roles. Critical care experience is preferred. Participation in Gifts of Hope cases is required. Support within the department includes a charge nurse and resource nurse. Nurses will engage in unit orientation to familiarize themselves with processes and teams. Shifts may require weekend rotation every fourth weekend. The operating room is open 24/7 for emergency and urgent cases outside regular hours. All holiday coverage will be required as necessary. On-call duties are assigned based on service lines with a 30-minute response time mandate.
